Spring Tips
Crabgrass control tips
Spring is the time of year when we have the ability to prevent crabgrass seed from germinating during the summer months. Optimum control will be achieved with an application of “Barricade” crabgrass control during the early spring. Timing of this application should be between March 1 and April 15th in Maryland. This time frame will ensure barrier establishment prior to potential unwanted crabgrass germination. Please note if you are considering spring seeding, avoid applying a pre-emergent crabgrass control to these areas as it will limit desirable seed germination also.
Grub Control tips:
Preventative Grub control will be available in late May-June. Why worry about Grub activity in your lawn. With one application we will prevent Grub activity for the entire season. Merit Grub control rated #1 in control. Guaranteed Results.
Spring seeding (Shade) tips:
For best results for spring seeding use a shade mixture of "Red Fescue, Chewings Fescue & Hard Fescue." Reminder soil preparation and moisture are a must to promote seed germination. Plan to seed in early April when soil temperatures will allow seed to sprout.
Horticultural Oil Tips:
Insects are over wintering on your trees and shrubs. To help prevent insect activity during the spring season, consider a March application of Horticultural Oil to control Mites, Scale and other insects prior to egg hatching. |
